Drugs, timber seized

The Sasastra Seema Bal(SSB) jawans from 16th battalion based at Ranighuli in Kokrajhar district has succeed to got three more achievement with arrests of two drug peddler  and recovery of timbers from smugglers along the Indo-Bhutan border  of Chirang and Kokrajhar during the last three days continued operation.

SSB jawans’ company from Tukribasti along with border out post(BOP) Sonapur apprehended two persons along with illegal & restricted drug items during a combined search operations on Tuesday  in the Dadgiri market area which is about 500 metre south from the nearest border post No.169/5 where the  party succeed to seized SP tablets & N-10 tablets amounting of Rs.4500. They were identified as Shyam  Bahadur of Majhibasti and Santosh  Sribal of Hatisar of Chirang district.

SSB battalion and forest department seized  82 numbers of unclaimed timber logs worth of Rs. 4,72,500 from Islakatha during a joint operation under the leadership of AKC Singh,Commandant 16th Bn SSB Ranighuli on Wednesday. Continuing it’s search operation against timber smugglers along the border areas’ Nangalbhanga, Jaipur & Madarpara village has again able to seize six numbers of wooden logs amounting of Rs.1,12,928.The seized timber logs were handed over to concern forest range offices.

The Election Observer for Expenditure for 31-Sidli (ST) LAC Jaginder Singh, IRS on Tuesday arrived at Kajalgaon in Chirang district. BJP leader quits

Former president of Kokrajhar district unit of Bharatiya Janata Party, Binati Bala Basumatary resigned from her party membership on Monday.  Basumatary submitted her resignation letter to the state party president citating personal reason . She was Kokrajhar district BJP president for 2011-2015, who had gained strength of the party through her strong leadership in the district. Basumatary's quit of the party ahead assembly election would draw a set back party strength in the Kokrajhar. Basumatary is likely to join ruling BPF party within couple of days, said a close aid of Binati. 

NDFNB(S) ultras held

Three cadres of the NDFB(S) were arrested by security forces in a joint operation belonging to police and army at Hakata village under Barama PS in Baksa district on Sunday. The cadres were identified as Jwangsar Boro @ KK, Mohit Mushahary and Pramod Ramchiary @ Khankari @Raja   of Baksa district. They were actively involved in extortion, arms smuggling and other nefarious and anti national activities and Adivasi carnage in December(2014) and had run away and sheltered themselves in Chennai, till their return. Two pistols along with 4 live rounds, a hand grenade and three mobile phones were recovered from them. Mohit Misahary is a cadre of 39 Batch NDFB and trained in Myanmar.
