BJP stages dharna in Kokrajhar
Hundreds of BJP activists and supporters join hands in the sit-in-dharna at party office on Monday in Kokrajhar in protest against former minister and Congress leader Nilamani Sen Deka, who had recently commented that union HRD minister Smriti Irani second wife of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Deminstrators with banner, placards shouted slogans demanding strong punishment to Congress leader Sen Deka, was organized by Kokrajhar district Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha.
Gopal Sanhyal, president of the Yuva Marcha participating the dharna condemned the controversial statement made from Sen Deka on PM Modi citating that Modi had love affairs with Irani.He has demanded strong punishment to Deka so that women community can get justice and respect among society.

Former president of Kokrajhar district unit of Bharatiya Janata Party, Binati Bala Basumatary resigned from her party membership on Monday. Basumatary submitted her resignation letter to the state party president citating personal reason . She was Kokrajhar district BJP president for 2011-2015, who had gained strength of the party through her strong leadership in the district. Basumatary's quit of the party ahead assembly election would draw a set back party strength in the Kokrajhar. Three cadres of the NDFB(S) were arrested by security forces in a joint operation belonging to police and army at Hakata village under Barama PS in Baksa district on Sunday. The cadres were identified as Jwangsar Boro @ KK, Mohit Mushahary and Pramod Ramchiary @ Khankari @Raja of Baksa district. They were actively involved in extortion, arms smuggling and other nefarious and anti national activities and Adivasi carnage in December(2014) and had run away and sheltered themselves in Chennai, till their return.
