Eminent scientist and educationist Dr Kulendu Pathak will attend the 'Guest of the Month' programme of Guwahati Press Club tomorrow (June 26). The programme will begin at 1 pm.
The former Vice Chancellor of Dibrugarh University, Dr Pathak will interact with the member-journalists during the programme. All members are requested to attend the same.
A short Biography of Dr Kulendu Pathak:
Born at Nagarbera on the south bank of Brahmaputra, where Kamrup, Goalpara and Barpeta meet.
Education: Nagarbera H E School, St.Edmonds College (I Sc), Shillong, Cotton College (B.Sc), Gauhati University (M Sc) and Birmingham University (UK).
Service: Nagarbera H E School (Vacation), Pragjyotish College (One Year), Cotton College (1965-2000) – on deputation to establish Assam Science and Tech and Environment Council, Guwahati. Vice Chancellor Dibrugarh University (2002-2008)
Areas of Interest: High energy physics, Instrumentation established IDSC at Cotton College for designing and servicing instruments, especially for colleges.
History and Philosophy of science- taught history of science and technology to students of IIT, Guwahati as an external faculty. Science and society related issues including environment.
