The Chirang district magistrate has detailed two magistrates for magisterial enquiry into two separate incidents in October & November last of this year in the district.
Bijni executive magistrate Dhruba Jyoti Das and Chirang executive magistrate Jitu Kumar Barman were detailed to enquire into incidents occurred in two separates at North Amlaiguri under Panbari police outpost and Dwigudung under Runikatha police station in the district.
According to district magistrate, Dhruba Jyoti Das will enquire into the incident that took place on October 11, 2015 inside the Manas Reserve Forest at North Amlaiguri village under Panbari police outpost where NDFB linkman Sambaru Basumatary, son of Tepo Basumatary of Amlaiguri village was killed and Jitu Kumar Barman will enquire into the incident that took place at Dwigudung village under Runikhata PS on November 13, 2015 where NDFB (S) cadre Jaola Muchahary, son of Haparam Muchahary of Dwigudung village was killed. Both these people were killed in the exchage of fire between the NDFB (S) cadres and the team of Assam Police, Cobra of CRPF and Army.
The Enquiry Officers were asked to coduct the enquiry as per the latest guidelines of the NHRC and submit the report within 45 days with effect from December 1. As such, the concerned Megistrates have called upon all organisational heads, publics, family members of the killed militants to appear before them if they have any complain in regards to the incidents at their respective offices during office hour with necessary evidence and papers within scheduled date.
