since 1952 about 632 schemes has been implemented for controlling erosion and flood of Assam. But more than 31000 cores of land and property lost in the last five decades.undoubtedly corruption of rulling authority is one of the major reasons of this pathetic situation of the state.the water resource department has been focusing negligence since its very establishment.even today various corruption allegations raise against the state water resource minister Bharat Narah. but he cannot deny it.it can be said that under the aegis of Mr. Narah looting of public is prevalent.

Mohammedan Sporting Club of Kolkata won the Independence Ccup football title beating last year's champion BSF, Jalandhar 3-2, via tie break, in the final held at Nagaon on Thursday. Expansion of National Highway 52

The State Government has decided to propose the Centre for expansion of NH 52 along the northern bank of the river Brahmaputra which would facilitate diversion of commercial and heavy vehicles from Jakhalabandha on the southern bank across the existing Kaliab Bhomora bridge and at Gohpur on the northern bank across a new bridge connecting Bokakhat.Forest Minister Pradyut Bordoloi said the decision has been taken in the light of suggestions made by renowned wildlife experts from across the world for overcoming new challenges in the management of the world heritage site Kaziranga. Arunachal Pradesh suffered a humiliating defeat by the hand of Assam in the N E Challenge cup Hockey Tournament held at Tayabulla Hockey stadium on Monday.
