Torch rally for Kamatapur

Hundreds of AKRSU activists and common publics joined hands in the torch light rally carried out by AKRSU demanding ST  ststus to Koch Rasbongsi community, creation of separate Kamatapur state in Kokrajhar town this evening. 

The rally was organised by AKRSU Kokrajhar district unit in association with central committee, was started fro  Rashmela ground and proceeded to Kokrajhar DC office via RNB road in Kokrajhar. 

Ralliest shouted slogans with banner, placard and festoon demanding early creation of separate Kamatapur state through peace talk. 

Hiteswar Barman, president of the AKRSU slammed the centre govt for not taking stern step while bringing solutions of demands from the students union. He alleged that govt has been delaying the peace process talk on the issue of the demands said that it is a BJP led NDA govt to make politically delay in its proceedings in the name of peace talk. 

He demanded early creation of separate Kamatapur state and granting of Scheduled Tribes (ST ) status to the Koch Rajbongsi community in thd state

Barman has warned BJP party to check against govt if their demands are not meet before Assembly elections early next year as student union placed their demand and issues to the centre. 

He has also told that the students union and Koch Rajbongshi community would stand against BJP party in days to coming if their issue and problems were not meet up early solution.

Former president of Kokrajhar district unit of Bharatiya Janata Party, Binati Bala Basumatary resigned from her party membership on Monday.  Basumatary submitted her resignation letter to the state party president citating personal reason . She was Kokrajhar district BJP president for 2011-2015, who had gained strength of the party through her strong leadership in the district. Basumatary's quit of the party ahead assembly election would draw a set back party strength in the Kokrajhar. Three cadres of the NDFB(S) were arrested by security forces in a joint operation belonging to police and army at Hakata village under Barama PS in Baksa district on Sunday. The cadres were identified as Jwangsar Boro @ KK, Mohit Mushahary and Pramod Ramchiary @ Khankari @Raja   of Baksa district. They were actively involved in extortion, arms smuggling and other nefarious and anti national activities and Adivasi carnage in December(2014) and had run away and sheltered themselves in Chennai, till their return.
