Padma Hazarika joining BJP

In yet another blow for Asom Gana Parishad, Sootea MLA Padam Hazarika is joining BJP on Tuesday. Hazariaka, the fourth time MLA is welcomed at a function by state unit president Siddharth Bhattacharya in Guwahati.

 

Hazarika, who has been in mile tussle with Prafulla Kumar Mahanta and his close associates in the party is believed to have been preparing to quit the party for the last two years. The regional party suspended him for refusing to toe on the party line in the Rajya Sabha polls last year paving the way for Congress candidate to win.
