The Supreme Court is likely to review its ruling on the government advertisements with photogaphs of political leaders. The Centre also is preparing to seek a review of the May 13 judgment were phtographs of Prime Minister, President and CJI only have been allowed in government advertisements.
The court is likely to hear the review petitions of West Bengal, Karnataka, Assam and Tamil Nadu government where the Centre, in its affidavits is expected to support the move. The country’s apex court on September 14 agreed to hear the the review petitions from four states and fixed on Tuesday as the date of hearing. The court is also expected to hear a petition filed by the NGO accusing the TN and Delhi governments of having committed contempt of the May 13 judgment.
