Terror tentacles in Tinsukia

After a brief silence, terror starts spreading its diabolic tentacles in Tinsukia district when suspected ULFA men targeted a police station on Wednesday.  The sensational incident took place at 8 in the evening when five youths in army uniform appeared in front of the Kakopothar police station and started indiscriminate firing at the policemen.

Initially, they lobbed a rocket launcher which refused to strike. This was followed by firing for nearly 10 minutes forcing the officers to confine to the police station for the sake of their lives. Immediately after the attack, they vanished from the scene. Nobody has so far owned up the responsibility. But the needle suspicion points towards ULFA since Kakopothar has been a safe den for a section dreaded ULFA leaders who have been striking in the area to make their presence felt.
