Bribery case: CBI to produce Ripun Bora, 2 others before court

Sacked education minister Ripun Bora along with his two associates now in CBI custody would be produced before a special court on Saturday morning.

The investigating agency who booked Mr Bora along with businessman Ramesh Maheswari and journalist Mukul Pathak would be produced before the special court at Tis Hazari before 12 noon.

On the other hand, the journalist was produced before the Tis Hazari Court on Friday and was remanded to one days CBI custody.

The trio were arrested on Tuesday last in New Delhi and Guwahati respectively while they were trying to bribe a CBI official who was probing the Danial Topno murder case with Rs 10 lakh. Caught in this vicious acrimonious situation, Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi suggested Governor Lt General (Retd.) Ajay Kumar Singh to drop him from the cabinet which was done accordingly.

Dhemaji: Floods are in full flow in Dhemaji. Almost 40,000 people have been displaced after a breach in the embankment of the Jiadhol river. 25 villages are reported to be under water and the people have been stranded at various places. Nasscoms had launched the Assessment and Certification Programme (NAC) for the BPO sector which is a great success. Nasscom is now in the process of launching a similar testing and accreditation offer, NAC Tech, for the IT services, according to Mr Kiran Karnik, Chairman of Nasscom.
