DC reviews Pashighat power scenario

East Siang Deputy Commissioner Isha Khosla reviewed power scenario in Pasighat and its adjoining areas on Wednesday. He further reviewed the status of the ongoing construction works of 132 KV tower line from Aalo to Pasighat, low voltage and fluctuation and renovation, restoration works of hydel projects. Power Transmission officer Rokom Bado along with other senior officers attended the meeting.

The Deputy Commissioner instructed the works departments to ensure quality of works besides following the guidelines and time line by the contractors. They should expedite works so that people are not suffer more.

Much to the respite of Nabam Tuki, the Supreme Court on Monday refused to clear a Gauhati High Court’s order for CBI probe into a 10 year old allegation against the Chief Minister. The apex court, however, will hear the plea on November 16. The Gauhati High Court ordered a CBI probe against Tuki on August 21 into allegations abusing his official position as PWD minister in awarding vital contracts to his relatives without inviting tenders. Tuki had challenged the order by filing a special leave petition later in the Supreme Court, which stayed the high court ruling. The case will be heard again on November 16.

The Arunachal Pradesh government has struck a deal with Numaligarh Refinery Limited on Friday for sourcing bio-ethanol from available non-food bio-mass feedstock bamboo in the north eastern state. The project is proposed to be implemented in 2 years time.The pacts were signed at a brief function in presence of Chief Minister’s office in Itanagar.
