Aarti Kachair gets social welfare department while kamalakha Purkayastha will look after the water resources.
The chief minister has given animal husbandry department to Sanjay Raj Subba. Manika Bora will look after the revenue department while Hemanta Talukdar will be the parliamentary secretary for agriculture.

This is a ploy of Congress government giving portfolios before the Assembly elections. It means that Congress is giving a chance to its MLA to loot the money as much as possible before the elections so that they can cover up the bank balance as Congress is going to lose the upcoming election in Assam.

Atleast nine persons including four journalists sustained injury when ULFA exploded a powerful grenade in Mongoldoi on Thursday. Poachers strike again in Kaziranga. Two one-horned rhinos were killed and chopped off their horns in the National Park on Wednesday.Poachers were learnt to have killed the rhinos near the NH-37----200 meters away from Dirang forest camp under Burapahar range office in the park.According to KNP officials, the incident took place at around 3.20 am nearby the NH-37. Two powerful grenade explosions marred Independance day celebrations in Kokrajhar on Thursday. The fist blast took place at JV Road at 10.30 in the morning where one person sustained. Identified as Bipul Brahma, he was rushed to the hospital. Another bomb exploded in front of BPF head office.
Despite elaborate security arrangement two more grenade explosions rocked Chirang again. The first explosion took place at Baghergaon in Bijni. Then the second grenade went off in front of ABMSU office premises in the morning.
