Advice not needed: Gogoi

Assam chief minister Tarun Gogoi lashed out at the home ministry for opposing safe passage for Paresh Baruah whose mother has been battling for life.

In a statement issued on Saturday Gogoi made an oblique attack on Union minister of state for home Kiren Rijiju who questioned the chief minister’s national interest.

Sharpening his attack on the home ministry, Gogoi said that he had been fighting insurgency for the last many years where he claimed to have achieved huge success.

He, therefore, said that he need not take anybody’s advice on national interest and humanitarian ground.
According to him, he announced safe passage for ULFA top leader to enable him to visit his ailing mother.
