Beware drunken drivers

The Arunachal Pradesh government has announced fine from Rs 2000 to Rs 4000 against who drunken driving in the state. The inability to pay the fine would invite six month imprisonment. This was more or less of what home minister Tanga Byaling said when he was opening the ‘Traffic Awareness System’ in Itanagar on Saturday.

He said at least 10- 20 young people lost their lives in the road accident every year. These are due to negligence of traffic rules. According to him, “ the major setback is that the people don’t maintain traffic rules, mostly traffic problem arise due to unorganized  driving in the road and its way of parking.”
Byaling  appealed to the people  to cooperate with traffic police to help them avert any road mishap.

He further informed that cabinet as already passed resolution on traffic related rules in the state. A person riding without helmet will have to pay Rs 200 as fine apart from Rs 600 to Rs 1500 fine with six month jail against over speed.

Director General of Police S Nithyanandan  said to create awareness on traffic rule police have setup at least five  traffic awareness point in the capital complex  Ganga, Bank Tinali, Ziro-Point in Itanagar and Borapani & Thana Tinali in Naharlagun in which an audio  on traffic rules & road safety will be played in fixed hours. 

Among others,  DIG – ITBP, Commandant CRPF, ADM- Taloh Potom, Deputy Commissioner Papumpare- T Kaye  along with other officers from Police Department and members from Market Welfare Committee also attended the programme.

Arunachal steps in to bridge yawning gap

The Arunachal Pradesh cabinet on Friday recommend a proposal for connectivity to unconnected habitations in border areas under Border Area Development Programme (BADP) as a special case.Seventy two roads located in 23 border blocks covering 12 districts would be taken up under the programme. Pawan hans chopper missing Arunachal

Pawan Hans choppers would be missing in the sky of Arunachal Pradesh. Post flood scene reviewed in Namsai

The post flood situation in Namsai district of Arunachal Pradesh was reviewed by the Deputy Commissioner. At a meeting on Monday.
