Gogoi assures of implementation of Bodo medium issues
Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi has assured of setting up of a separate cell soon for Bodo medium with own office to look into medium related as proposed earlier in the name of the Bodo and Other Tribal languages Directorate to meet development of educational in the state, said Lawrence Islary, General Secretary of the All Bodo Students Union(ABSU).
A seven members delegation team of ABSU headed by Kungkhra Swargiary,adviser of the students union met Chief Minister Gogoi on Monday at his official residence in Guwahati and submitted a memorandum seeking early solution and implementations of 15 point chartered of educational demand and issues to make growth of Bodo medium education scenerio and and assured of early solution nad imlementation of the demands.
Islary told that CM Gogoi had given attention and heard demands during meeting which lasted nearly 45 minutes and assured early implementation of the demands. He has agreed to convene a meeting with the Education department at the Minister level taking all the commissioners and directors concern to find out the possible solution of the Bodo medium issues,Islary said.
On the Bodo official language, in the discussion Gogoi has assured the necessary process would be taken up by the state, to make Bodo as one of the Official Language in the state. He also assured that it is possible only after the Amendment of the existing The Assam Official Language Act, 1960,Islary added.
ABSU has stressed for the separate directorate for Bodo medium in the state,which is one of the largest and recognised under the eight schedule of the Constitution of India by the Constitution (Ninety-Second) Amendment, 2003. Every aspect in connection to the demands and issues stated in the memorandum are discussed vividly. The Bodo department in all the Universities including Central Universities in Assam, to introduce Bodo major in all the colleges of Assam where Bodo students can study. The Bodoland University matter for more development from faculty to academic progress, the provincialization of remaining venture institutions in Assam.
