Atrocities by security forces resented
Public in greater Ultapani area in the extreme north of Kokrajhar district, along the Indo-Bhutan border expressed their resentment over the atrocities by security forces in the name of militant search in the region. At least 10 people were beaten up, some of them are taking medical treatment at hospitals.
Lokon Basumatary, a resident of Ultapani village told that the Army jawans severely beaten him when Army jawans were on search operations against militant outfits. He said that he is taking treatment at Bongaigaon hospital after the attack.
Purno Chandra Brahma, village headman slammed the state govt for not being able to check of illegal attrocities. He demanded that atrocities on innocent public should be stopped living in the area.
