Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi said that Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma’s entry into BJP will put the people in utter confusion over the chief ministerial candidate.
Hours after Dr Sarma unofficially joined BJP, Gogoi said that if Sarma is made the chief ministerial candidate then what is in store for Sarbananda Sonowal and Siddharth Bhattacharya.
Talking to reports Gogoi wondered why and how Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma joined BJP a day after he was proud of his party’s victory in the Tiwa autonomous council polls.

GUWAHATI: The Gauhati High Court has reserved its ruling on the bail petitions moved by 19 ACS and APS officers who were arrested in the APSC cash for jobs scam. A bench of Justice Rumi Kumari Phukan heard the bail petitions on Friday and reserved the ruling. The ruling is expected in a day or two. All of these officers have been sent to jail after the end of the police remand. The court further heard the anticipatory bail petition of Nishamoni Deka who has been absconding since the police launched the massive drive against these ACS and APS officers. The Supreme Court has already rejected the anticipatory bail plea.

GOLAGHAT: A local court in Golaghat sent Subir Roy and Damir Roy to jail on Thursday a day after they shot at six of their tea garden workers for demanding wages. Police arrested the owner duo of the tea garden near Numligarh hours after the incident triggering anger among the workers who called district bandh on Thursday. They fired upon a group of workers when they demanded wages and bonus which they have not received.
