Two days interface meeting with stakeholders and existing Self Help Groups (SHGs) was concluded on Feb-19 at Pangin Block of East Siang district in Arunachal Pradesh. The programme was organised by the Block Mission Management Unit (BMMU) Pangin Block.
All the resource persons interacted with the Stakeholders, PRIs of Panign Gram Panchayat, NGOs, CBOs and existing SHGs of Pangin, Moli , Moku Koreng and Yeksi Villages and studied about the economic–social condition of SHGs which will be helpful in proper implementation of NRLM NRLM/Aajeevika Program at the intensive block. During the two-days awareness-meeting, the ‘Resource Team’ made aware the Women SHGs and RGs and highlighted on basic inputs.
Special SHG groups in the difficult areas with disabled persons in remote tribal areas could be formed with five members (at least), the team suggested. NRLM/Aajeevika will promote affinity based on local SHGs comprising persons with disabilities (men and women) and other special categories like elders and transgender etc. SHG is an informal group and registration under Societies Act, State cooperative Act or a partnership firm was not mandatory, informed the resource team adding that ‘Federations of SHGs’ formed at village level, cluster level and at higher levels are to be registered under appropriate acts, prevailing in the States.
