TANGLA: A local court in Tangla sent a senior teacher to jail in Panery after he allegedly attempted to rape a student sending anger in the entire area. He is non other than Nagen Kumar, who teaches in Phulkuchi Middle English. He tried to molest the student of class eight on December 8 last. The thirteen-year-old girl told police that the teacher called her inside the computer lab while the other children were playing outside and kissed her on cheeks.
When the girl revealed it to her parents on reaching home the parents moved Panery police station to file a complaint against the teacher on Tuesday following which he has been arrested and sent to court which forwarded him to judicial custody on Wednesday. According to police, the accused teacher has been charged under provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offence Act (POSCO) 2012 Act, R/W 294 IPC vide Panery PS case no. 109/17.
