CM targets Himanta again

Chief minister Tarun Gogoi continues to target Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma over the Louis Berger scam where a Canada-based firm had to bribe a section of ministers and GMDA officers for a huge water supply project in 2001.

Talking to reporters in the sidelines of a function in Guwahati on Thursday, Gogoi said, “If he is not involved then why is he sacred of the enquiry.”

In yet another development, Union minister said that Gogoi has not been able to probe his innocence. Sonowal’s comment came a day after the chief minister dared him to move prime minister and home minister seeking a probe into the multi crore scam.

The United Liberation Front of Assam (I) handed down the death penalty to two of its cadres for their alleged involvement with espionage. In a press communique, the outlawed outfit said that its two cadres, Sanjiv Sarma and Dhanjit Das, were found to be involved in espionage.
