ULFA likely to resume armed struggle

Will the pro-talk ULFA leaders resume the armed struggle? They might not do it. If so why they are so angry? Yes, they might pull out of the peace process. The ULFA men who came overground for talks on Wednesday threatened to resume armed struggle alleging Centre's lack of seriousness.

Talking to Assam Talks after a crucial meeting in Jagiroad, pro talk ULFA leader Mrinal Hazarika said that the they have not received anything positive from the NDA government. Hazarika said, "the Centre has done precious little to resolve problem. New Delhi lacks seriousness to bring Anup Chetia back from Dhaka who has been languishing in jail for the last several years along with three other leaders."

The former ULFA crack unit leader observed that if the Centre continues to play this delaying tactics then they will have no option but to resume the armed strike in a big way. Led by chairman Arabinda Rajkhowa, the pro talk ULFA leaders held three rounds of talks during the UPA government. Since NDA came to power they held only a round of talks with the Centre where any sign of solution has eluded.
