Amit Shah on visit to Guwahati

BJP president is on stock taking visit to Guwahati nine months ahead of the assembly polls.

Immediately after landing at the Borjhar airport, he along with 10 other top leaders straightly arrived at the Machkhowa ITA to address the convention of the party’s north eastern leaders.

Later in the day he would met the state leadership to take stock of the state’s pre poll political landscape.   

He is scheduled to leave the city in the evening.

Wrong News. After landing at Borjhar LGBI Airport, he went to Hotel Rituraj where he conducted a personal meeting for more than one hour and then around 12:10 proceeded to ITA Machkhowa from where he left for Delhi.

GUWAHATI: Eight people sustained serious injury when a devastating fire broke out a semi commercial area in the outskirt of Guwahati on Monday. The incident took place in the wee hours at Bihapara in Goroimari when a house caught fire because of electric short circuit. Kokrajhar:  The Assam Tribal Sangha demands measures to protect the tribal belt and blocks in the state to meet welfare and development of the tribals. GUWAHATI: Peace talks with the major north eastern rebel groups are in final stage, says Union minister of state for home Kiren Rijiju as he was addressing a press conference in Guwahati on Saturday. GUWAHATI: Veteran Assamese film maker Munin Baruah passed away after prolonged illness leaving a pall of gloom across the state on Saturday. DIBRUGARH: In yet another shocking incident a local resident of Moran in Dibrugarh allegedly raped before killing a five year old girl three days back. The entire incident came to light only on Friday after police and villagers in Tiloi Nagar recovered the body from a waterbody. The accused is on the run.
