PCDR defers strike

PCDR has deferred the day long strike in Kokrajhar slated for Tuesday demanding measures to check illegal tax collection at the Srirampur Check Gate.

Talking to Assam Times, PCDR leaders said that they have cleared the decision on Monday considering the ensuring Eid. “We will let you know the schedule of the strike,” they told Assam Times.

Women’s Day celebrated at NTPC

Bongaigaon Thermal Power Project also joined the rest of the country in celebrating International Women’s Day here at Salakati on Tuesday in Kokrajhar district. UtpalChakrabarti, Group General Manager of NTPP spoke at length about the history of this august day and how at present society, women are leading at important positions throughout the world.
