Body recovered

A body of Birdao Brahma (18) of Hatimata Ward number 8 was recovered Gaurang river this afternoon in Kokrajhar town today. 

Brahma along with his friends went to the river this morning and drowned the river. Later, his body was was fished out from  the river near Gaurang bridge.

Inquiry into question paper leaked

The Assam Higher Secondary Education Council(AHSEC) has started its inquiry into ‘Physics’ Question Paper leakage at Grahampur HS school involving two senior officers of the council in Kokrajhar. NDFB(S) link men arrested

Police in its operational initiative able to apprehend three link men of the National Democratic Front of Boroland(Songbijit faction) militant outfit from Harjhora area under Bagribari PS in Kokrajhar district today. Six arrested with arms

13 fishermen arrested

As many as 13 fishermen were arrested by Bhutan Royal Army on Tuesday inside deep jungle of Sarpang district of Bhutan while going illegally into the neighboring country. According to a senior police officer in Kokrajhar, thirteen persons from Kachugaon area of Gossaigaon subdivision illegally entered seven kilometers into Bhutan territory to fishing inside deep jungle where they were caught by Bhutan Royal Army on Tuesday and then handed over them to Kokrajhar police. The arrested persons were sent to jail.
