City bus accident; 10 injured

At least ten people sustained injury when a city bus rammed into an auto rickshaw along with a two wheeler in Guwahati on Thursday.
The tragic accident took place at around 11 in the morning at the busy Paltanbazar area when a Ganeshguri bound city bus rammed into a two wheeler after the driver lost his control over it.
A college student who was sitting on the stranded two wheeler received serious injury to be rushed to the GMCH where he is battling for life.
Then it again rammed into an auto rickshaw before halting beside the Vishal Mega Mart. Three people who were travelling on the ill fated auto rickshaw also sustained injury.
Seven other passenger who sustained serious injury are battling for life at the MMC and GMC Hospitals.

Guwahati: The mortal remains of Tarun Gogoi consigned to the flames on Thursday three days after the former Chief Minister died of post COV19 complications at the Guwahati Medical College Hospital. Guwahati: BJP president JP Nadda has deferred his two days visit to Guwahati ion Thursday and Friday in view of the demise of former Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi . According to state party leaders, Nadda will let the state BJP leadership know his rescheduled date very soon. Accompanied by central party observer Baijayant Jai Panda, JP Nadda was scheduled to arrive in Guwahati on Thursday to hold at least 14 party meeting ahead of 2021 assembly polls. But Gogoi’s sudden demise has disrupted the scheduled. The party also suspended all activities and announced three state mourning. 
Guwahati: Top Congress leader Rahul Gandhi called Tarun Gogoi a political mentor as he paid his last respect to the former Chief Minister who passed away on Monday. Taking to media, Gandhi heaped praised on Gogoi saying that Gogoi could inject new hopes and aspirations for Assam and it's people who was least bothered about his personal life. "Gogoi's demise was a great loss for Indian politics, " said Gandhi.  Immediately after arriving on Guwahati, Gandhi along with Jitendra Singh and KC Venugopal visited the Gogoi at the official residence and condolences his death.   The he left for Shankardev Kalakhetra and paid his last respect.
Guwahati: Senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi paid his tribute to Tarun Gogoi on Wednesday two days after the former Chief Minister breathed his last at the Guwahati Medical College Hospital. Gandhi, who arrived in the capital city from Goa at 9 in the morning straightly left for Gogoi's official residence in Dispur where he condoled the demise of the senior Congress leader. Accompanied by KC Venugopal and Jitendra Singh, Gandhi rushed to the Shankardev Kalakhetra where paid his last respect to Gogoi.  His mortal remains would be kept at the Shankardev Kalakhetra for Wednesday and would be cremated at Navagraga cremation ground on Thursday.
