Poll gimmicks for small tea growers

Dispur has amended a vital policy that can fetch good catch of benefit for thousands of small tea growers hardly a year ahead of the assembly polls.  

 Confirming this official sources told Assam Times that the recent cabinet meeting cleared the Cess Utilization (Amendment) Policy, 2015 to percolate benefit for the small tea growers which comes into force from June.

Apart from promising a simplified procedure for benefits to the small tea growers, there are provisions that can help them get various subsidy grants in aid.

According to information, benefits of subsidy to 75% of actual cost of vehicle for transportation of green leaf, subsidy against interest of bank loan, grants upto 75% of cost for providing green leaf collection centres.

This is apart from special assistance @30% on plant and machinery and factory building for setting up small orthodox BLTF or Small CTC factory.

 

Provision has also been made in the new Policy for special subsidies in case natural calamities like draught, epidemic outbreak affecting plants and human likes.
