NE insurgents claim responsibility

The newly-floated common platform of the North east insurgent outfit claims to have killed 18 army jawans in Manipur o Thursday.

The common platform comprising United Liberation Front of Western South East Asia comprising NSCN (K), Ulfa (I), Kamatapur Liberation Organization and NDFB (Songbijit) formally claimed the responsibility on Friday. 

Ulfa (I) chief Paresh Baruah claimed to have launched the deadly attack at the instance of SS Khaplang which heads the platform.

This was the third ambush during the last two months. The second ambush took place on April 2 where 3 Army jawans were killed in Tirap district of Arunachal Pradesh. 

The second one took place on May 3 where 7 Assam Rifles jawans and one jawan of Territorial Army were killed in in Mon district in Nagaland.
