Bodo sabha delegation meets Rijiju

A team of the  Bodo Sahitya Sabha members under the leadership of  Biseswar Basumatary, Vice President of the sabha, met the Minister of  State for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju in his in New Dlehi on Thursday and apprised him for execution of various demands earlier submitted to the Prime Minister ofIndia Sri NarendraDamodar DasModiji,through a Mass Dharna staged at Jantar-Mantar, New Delhi, on 26th November,2014.

The demands from the sabha are included  creation of Separate Directorate of Education forBodo and other Tribal Languages, creation of Separate Directorate of Education for Bodoland Territorial Council(BTC),implementation of Tribal and Other Traditional Forest Dwellers Act, 2006 and allotments of land for the schools located in forest areas under the Forest Right Committees as per the provision of the Chapter-II clause 3 (2) of the Scheduled Tribes and Other Traditional Forest Dwellers Act, 2006, amendment of Some Section of Assam Venture Education Institution (Provincialization of Services)Act, 2011, allocation of Medium-wise posts as per requirement under the Provision of Chapter-IV Clause 23 (2) of RTE Act, 2009 and holding of separate TET Examination with relaxation of norms for Bodo Medium School Education, implementation of Bodo as an Official Language of Assam specially within the BTAD areas as per Bodo Accord,2003. 

In the meeting the delegation team apprised to instruct the State Govt. of Assam to utilize in time properly the funds allocated under article 275(1) and SCR (TSP) meant for development of downtrodden tribal people of Assam. The team alleged Minister against the Govt. of Assam for not utilizing the funds provided under above mentioned for last two years.

In a very congenial atmosphere the delegation team also raised the proper implementation of Scheduled Tribes and other Traditional Forest Dwellers (Recognition of Forest Rights Act, 2006) in letter and spirit within a stipulated time frame.  The team also demanded permanent solution of Foreign National issue of Assam at the earliest and completion of updationof NRC in stipulated timeframe set by Hon’ble Supreme Court of India.

       The team also raised the long standing demand for introduction of News Bulletin programme and spoken words with talk and Drama in Bodo language in DDK,Guwahati and DDK, North East.

Furthermore, the BodoSahityaSabhais also very happy to learn the present Govt led by  Narendra Damodar Das Modiji is going to revive the peace process by holding talk with various militant groups who have been in ceasefire agreement with the Govt. of India.In this regard, the Bodo Sahitya Sabha is of the view that the peace talk with NDFB who are also in ceasefire agreement with the Govt. of India would gain momentum. Again, for the sake of peace and unity, the peace talk would be initiated with both factions of NDFB, i.e.NDFB(P) and NDFB(R).

     The sabha further said atht it is a matter of great regret that a senior Assam based IAS officer from Arunachal Pradesh Smt. Shakuntala DoleyGamlin, who was appointed as Chief Secretary of Delhi Govt. by his Excellency Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, Najiv Jung, is rejected and declined by the AAP Chief Minister of Delhi, Aravind Kejiriwal. The sabha is of the view that the attitude of Delhi Chief Minister is totally anti- Tribal, anti- North East, and against entire Women Community, Kamala Kanta Mushahary,General Secretary of Bodo sahitya sabha stated in a release.
