Congressmen join BPF

The ruling BPF party has termed that congress has lost its mass based in BTC as party could not open any account in recent concluded council election. 

Over 500 Congressmen including Assembly segment president, block mondal leaders and gaonburahs joined the BPF party at a programme held at Chitila community hall under Kokrajhar West LAC in Kokrajhar district on Sunday. 

Former MLA and senior BPF leader told that Congressmen joined the BPF party keeping new expectation of social upliftment as BPF party retained the council for third consecutive terms. He said that congress has lost public supports and their position would be worse in coming days as his party is gaining mass supports in the state. 

A congressman who joined in BPF today said that they joined the party as congress has not been taking any step come forward for social integration. He said that BPF has  a capacity to bring integration among various communitites in the region.

The party felicitated newly joined members with Phulam gamocha and bunch of flowers. 

Among others, Pradip Kumar Brahma, MLA, BTC executive members Rajib Brahma, Doneswar Goyary were present on the programme.

BJP leader quits

Former president of Kokrajhar district unit of Bharatiya Janata Party, Binati Bala Basumatary resigned from her party membership on Monday.  Basumatary submitted her resignation letter to the state party president citating personal reason . She was Kokrajhar district BJP president for 2011-2015, who had gained strength of the party through her strong leadership in the district. Basumatary's quit of the party ahead assembly election would draw a set back party strength in the Kokrajhar. Basumatary is likely to join ruling BPF party within couple of days, said a close aid of Binati. 

NDFNB(S) ultras held

Three cadres of the NDFB(S) were arrested by security forces in a joint operation belonging to police and army at Hakata village under Barama PS in Baksa district on Sunday. The cadres were identified as Jwangsar Boro @ KK, Mohit Mushahary and Pramod Ramchiary @ Khankari @Raja   of Baksa district. They were actively involved in extortion, arms smuggling and other nefarious and anti national activities and Adivasi carnage in December(2014) and had run away and sheltered themselves in Chennai, till their return. Two pistols along with 4 live rounds, a hand grenade and three mobile phones were recovered from them. Mohit Misahary is a cadre of 39 Batch NDFB and trained in Myanmar.
