Shakuntala, the daughter of former minister Lalit Doley and wife of former Arunachal Pradesh chief minister Jarbom Gamlin has alleged intimidation by a section of bureacrates not to take over.

A sting of untoward seems to have marred the statewide Assam bandh in protest against the Indo-Bangla land deal. Veteran journalist, prolific writer and socio economic and political analyst Jatindra Kumar Borgohain passed away on Wednesday following a brief illness.Borgohain died two died at the Hayat Hospital at around 2-50 in the afternoon two days after he was rushed to it following a serious ailment. ULFA has charged Dibrugarh police with masterminding the powerful blast that rocked the town on Tuesday leaving a schoolgirl. In a statement issued a day after the explosion at Amulapatty, the outfit made it clear that they had no role in the incident. The outfit called it a handiwork of police. Identified as Purnima Rajat, the Class X girl died on the spot as the blast took place. Five people--- left injured in the blast, were rushed to AMCH.
Security forces claimed to have recovered the bodies of two SSB constables a week after the duo were kidnapped by the suspected NEFB-S militants. The bullet ridden bodies were spotted along the Indo-Bhutan border on Thursday. Two more skeletons were also recovered from the same spot.
