Assam BJP firbrand and former Union minister Bijoya Chakravarty says her party is not averse to forge poll pact with Asom Gana Parishad. Talking to reporters recently in the city, she has said the poll pact has become necessary only to bail out Assam from the Congress misrule. "There may be some difference between AGP and BJP. All these are ideological but we are united this time we must end the misrule of the Tarun Gogopi Government in the state." she has said.
She further said both BJP and AGP are in for a bright prospect for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls and if it so happens, she has said, it will be a big relief for the people."
Mrs Chakravarty, who has recently been posted a the party’s vice president in the national level observed that during the last elections in State, division of votes on mere 30 seats between the two parties was a major factor in allowing the Congress to form the government.

As the BJP’s vice president in the national level, Mrs. Bijoya Chakravarty will get ample opportunity to serve Assam and indeed the entire nation. Knowing her as I do, I am sure, she will be able to achieve for us what others have failed to achieve in the past. We expect much from her.

Noted stage actor Kamala Rabha passed away after a prolonged illness at his own residence at Sakhati in Kamrup district on Friday, November 4. He was 65. His death was deeply condoled by various organisations and persons in Kamrup and Goalpara district. Born in 1946, he started his acting career in local drama groups. And later he joined several leading theatre groups of the state and involved for three decades. Nearly 20% journalists were detected with high sugar and blood pressure during a health check up camp organized by GNRC Hospitals at Guwahati Press Club today (Oct 29,2011).
