DRDA non cooperation

The functionings in Kokrajhar DRDA office came to a standstill on Wednesday when the employees staged dharna raising a set of demands.
At around 10 in the morning all employees thronged in front of the office and started staging dharna demanding steps to bring them under Panchayat & Rural development department with pensionary benefits.
They further demanded immediate release of monthly salary with arrears. The non cooperation will continue for the next seven days if the authorities fail give in.
Talking to Assam Times the employees called it a government conspiracy to deprive them of the due benefits.
They alleged that they have not received monthly salary.

EC bans more than 100 NE candidates

At least 25 people who contested the last assembly and parliamentary polls in Nagaland, Tripura, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Manipur and Nagaland won’t be able to do it till 2017. The Election Commission has disqualified these candidates for not submitting the details of their expenditures when they contested the last polls. 

The country’s poll panel has disqualified 3 candidates in Arunachal Pradesh. They are Koruna Morang, Geli Ete and Bote Yuto who have been barred from contesting the polls till 2017. They are apart from 3 other candidates from Meghalaya to have faced the stern action. They are namely Sofior Rahman, Pyndapborthiaw Saibon, Teiborlang Pathaw while M. Lalmanzuala, Lalthlahlova, and Biakmawawia have been disqualified in Mizoram. 

In Manipur, the Election Commission has disqualified 8 candidates namely NaoremIbeama Dev, Arambam BirendraSingh, Thingbaijam IbosanaMeitei, Takhellambam NepoleanSingh, Zanamuddin Yairipok, JalaluddinShah, Y.Borajao, Solankee Chothe and Lunkhomang who did not submit their expenditure details.

Tripura has 5 candidates who won’t be able to contest the next assembly and parliamentary polls. They are ChandanDas, Mangalia Debbarma,  Lukesh Sabdakar, Bimal Debbarma, DurgacharanDeb who have not submitted their expenditure details before the returning officers during the  last polls.

Nagaland has only Lachit Khersa who has been barred from contesting the polls.

These are apart from 88 other people from Assam who have faced the similar action from the Election Commission.

Ex-servicemen rally at Likabali

An Ex service men (ESM ) rally will be conducted at Likabali Military Station on December 11. The rally is being organized under aegis of Fifty Six Infantry Division.

Ex-servicemen, Veer Naris, Widows and Next of Kin of Dhemaji, NLP, Pasighat, Along and Daporijo District are expected to attend the rally. Opening ceremony of the ESM Rally will be graced by GOC 56 Division. Prominent civilian dignitaries are also invited to attend the event.

A large number of stalls are planned to set up to facilitate Ex-servicemen to sort out problem related to their pension, medical & health, rehabilitation, re-employment, banks assistance etc. Felicitation of Ex servicemen & War widows and distribution of gifts/cash awards are also planned as part of rally. 

Doctors of Military Hospitals will conduct free medical checkup of Ex-service men Veer Naris and widows. Cultural show and Barakhana is also being organized as part of the event. The rally aims to provide opportunity for formal and informal interaction & address grievances of ESM, Veer Naris & Widows.

 

BPPF demands high level inquiry

BPPF party demanded a high level inquiry into the serial killing at Balapara village late last night and punishes the involved culprits with the incidents. Rabiram Narzary, president of BPPF and BTC member and ex-MP Urkhao Gwra Brahma while addressing press meet here today at party office in Kokrajhar expressed their suspects that there was high conspiracy from government itself into killing of common publics. Party leaders condemned the incident and demanded strict actions against the situations. They also appealed all sections of community to maintain peace and harmony in the region.

BPPF leaders urge the government to steep strict action against te situation so that peoples can meet healthy safe and security in the region. 

Several organization and party including All Bodo Students Union, Bodoland Students Union, All Bodo Women Welfare Federation, BPF, and Congress condemned the incident and appealed for restoration of peace and unity.
