Good news for BPL girls

Girl students from the BPL families have reasons to heave a sigh of relief. They need not go to their schools n foot. Courtesy Dispur.

The Assam government has distributed 2,93,413 bicycles to the girl students from the BPL families to help the regularly attend the classes.

Talking to Assam Times, official sources said that the scheme has been percolate benefit for lakhs of BPL school girls.

In yet another dose of good news, the government has also distributed free school uniform to 1,63,68,581 students.

State TMC dead opposed to delimitation draft

The TMC Assam unit has opposed the draft delimitation proposal published by the Election Commission of India (ECI) on Tuesday evening. The proposal is prepared based on the 2001 census, which the TMC claims is not correct as there has been a change in the population pattern in the state.
