Leopard killed at Nazira

A full grown leopard who created terror in Mazenga, Hudupara and its sorrunding rural areas in Nazira for the last several months was killed by the villagers on last Wednesday. After brutally killed the tiger people took away its flesh.

On the other hand the forest officials lodge a case in Nazira police station in this regard a case is registered in Nazira police station bearing case No-15/15, under IPC 9/50/51 of Wild Life Protection Act.

Ray of respite for kidney patients

Krisok Sobha in Nazira

The Nazira unit of All India Krishok Sobha observed its foundation day with a day long programme  at Natiya Mandir on Tuesday.The organization took out a long procession in the town to mark the occasion to be marked by a public meeting the at Nazira Natiya Mandir where Left veterans Durpod Borgohain Kanok Gogoi were also present along with other dignatories. The meeting demanded immediate withdrawal of the move to amend the Land Acquisition Bill 2013 along with measures to prevent erosion in Assam, pension for agricultural labours, solve the unemployed problem and stop privatization move.

NRC awareness rally in Nazira

Thousands of people came out of their houses in Nazira to join the NRC awareness campaign on Saturday. Organized by Nazira AASU unit, the awareness rally got overwhelming response from all sections of the society. He feared that these ethnic communities may lost their own identity in their homeland.According to him, these people have already lost their right over land and resources in all the major cities and towns of Assam. ONGC hospital in Dec

ONGC will start its state-of-the-art hospital in Rajabari in December this year.This was what AASU told reporters in Nazira after a meeting with the oil major officials on Thursday.ONGC officials further agreed to implement other promises in the meeting with AASU leaders in Jorhat. The satisfied AASU leaders called off the 100 hour recent strike. HR director DD Mishra, Alok Mishra, VK Barma and executive director of the Assam Asset Budhin Deuri,  Ex.central secretary of AASU Tapan Gogoi, district president Manik Gogoi and district secretary Guvin Phukon attended the meeting.
