The extending help to the affected and inmates continued, the Congress party in BTAD and Khrishna Kanta Handique State Open University (KKHSOU) from Guwahati distributed relief materials today in Kokrajhar.
The Congress delegation led by Sambhu Mandal,president of Korajhar Lok Sabha Youth Congress visited the relief camps distributed materials like clothes,baby food,dry food,soap and other needed materials among inmates at Lungsung(Adivasi camp) and Garlabari(Bodo camp) and shared grief of affected and inmates in the carnage by NDFB (S).
Mandal was accompanied by BTC member Chrisostom Tudu while visiting the camps condemned and the carnage by militant outfit and termed it unfortunate situation for society in the state.The Congress leaders demanded stern steps against incident and identified the involved culprits and punished them.
A delegation team of Khrishna Kanta Handique State Open University (KKHSOU) from Guwahati visited Kokrajhar deputy commissioner office and extended help to the camp inmate and affected peoples.
The university team extended relief materials like clothes,blanket,rice,mates and some other needed materials to the affected and inmates and shared grief of peoples.
While,the relief camps have been decreased to 69 from 73 along with elevent thousand inmates too decreased as normacy has been returing in the district.
The were 73 camps in the three sub-division in district on Friday,of which four camps today decreased and presently altogether 1,42,898 inmates taking shelter in 69 camps in the district as situation has returned normalcy, said a senior official in the district administration.
The relief camps under Kokrajhar sub-division has decreased to 27 from 31 along with 4,107 inmates have also returned to their respective village and 57,250 inmates are taking shelter in camps; inmates have decreased to 80,678 from 87,978 who are taking shelter in 37 and 5,077 are taking shelter in 5 camps in Gossaigaon and Parbatjhora subdivision respectively in Kokrajhar district.
