Truckers attacked, money looted
The round-the-clock-vigil seems to have failed to ensure safety and security for the people even on the national highways. Goons looted money and attacked two truckers in the outskirt of Guwahati on Monday.
According to information, the incident took place at Bongalkuchi in Rongia where a truck from Bihar carrying wheat was forcibly halted by a group of armed goons in the wee hours.
Then they sprang upon the truckers with sharp weapons where the duo and looted Rs 25,000 in cash. Police on patrolling duty arrived on the spot. But by then the dacoits vanished in the dense fog. The injured truckers are battling for life at the hospital.
