Disabled persons in cleanliness drive
Disabled persons may be handicapped. But they have a strong will power. They do not lag behind others. A group of disabled persons sent an encouraging message to the people by participating at a cleanliness drive in Kokrajhar on Saturday.
Organized by a non governmental organization, the drive began from the Kokrajhar Sadar police station to the J D Road in the town area. They appealed to the people to keep their places clean before they wrapped up the drive at DC bungalow via civil line road in Kokrajhar.
The organizers said that they will organize clean drive in all districts of BTAD and bringing awareness about creating healthy and sound living among society. The NGO has urged the all citizens to keep clean and healthy living in the region and make India sound country across the world.
‘Though we(disabled persons) may be handicapped, but yet we have too strong will to clean and organizing social activity, of which why we organized these kinds of drive among society so that Bharat can be healthy and cleaned country’, said the NGO leaders.

Former president of Kokrajhar district unit of Bharatiya Janata Party, Binati Bala Basumatary resigned from her party membership on Monday. Basumatary submitted her resignation letter to the state party president citating personal reason . She was Kokrajhar district BJP president for 2011-2015, who had gained strength of the party through her strong leadership in the district. Three cadres of the NDFB(S) were arrested by security forces in a joint operation belonging to police and army at Hakata village under Barama PS in Baksa district on Sunday. The cadres were identified as Jwangsar Boro @ KK, Mohit Mushahary and Pramod Ramchiary @ Khankari @Raja of Baksa district. They were actively involved in extortion, arms smuggling and other nefarious and anti national activities and Adivasi carnage in December(2014) and had run away and sheltered themselves in Chennai, till their return.
