Arms smuggler killed in Kokrajhar encounter

Security forces claimed to have killed an arms smuggler at an encounter in Kokrajhar on Tuesday. Another person sustained bullet injury in the shoot out at Kamalachara Patalpuri area in the afternoon. According to information, acting on a tip off police and CRPF launched a joint operation in the area in the afternoon where initially the armed men targeted the security forces. When retaliated, one of the duo was killed while another sustained serious injury. He was rushed to the Rupnath Brahma Civil Hospital. Police later identified the deceased as Usuf Ali(36) who hailed from Duramari while the injured was identified as Sohrab Ali. A pistol and a magzine along with some bullets were recovered from them.
