Nagaland youths roughed up in Gurgaon

Incidents of racist attack on the north east people refuse to die down. Goons in Gurgaon assaulted two youths from Nagaland on Thursday a day after a Manipur student was beaten up by local youths in Bangore.

The fresh incident took place at Gurgaon where over ten local goons caught Awang and Chester in Sikanderpur area and mercilessly beat up with cricket bats and hockey sticks.

According to the complaint, a few youths took them to a nearby market at around 1 midnight to be beaten up. Their hairs were cut off and asked them to leave the area along with their friends. Later the duo were rushed to a nearby Civil Hospital where they have been undergoing treatment.

Search operation is on to find out the B Tech student of IIT-Guwahati who has been missing since Saturday. A police constable was killed and three others injured the convoy of MLA hit a tree at Balijan near Jorhat on Monday.The mishap took place early in the morning when the three police constables were part of the security team of MLA from Mariani constituency Rupjyoti Kurmi.Constable Abdul Aziz was killed, while two other constables, Dadul Gogoi and Jitu, besides driver Mohan Tanti were seriously injured in the accident on the National Highway 37 at around 1:30 AM. The injured were rushed to the Jorhat Medical College hospital.

Gauhati High Court on Friday granted bail to Sanghamitra Bharali who was arrested six months ago on corruption charges.Police arrested Bharli charging her with amassing wealth disproportionate to her known source of income.   
Guwahati police seized a huge amount of rupees to the tune of Rs 70 lakh from a vehicle on Friday. The amount in cash was seized from a Bolero during a routine check at Azara in the outskirt of the city in the afternoon. Three persons inside the vehicle were arrested.
