The flood toll has gone up by 43 with the report of one more death on Tuesday. Over six lakh people are still trapped in the calamity.
Rescue team in Goalpara on Tuesday fished out yet another body taking the toll in the worst-hit district by 20. This is apart from 16 deaths in Kamrup Rural and 6 in Kamrup Metro and one in Dhubri.
Altogether 165 relief camps have been operating in the affected districts where over 1.5 lakh people are staying at this moment.
In Goalpara, around 70,000 people are staying at relief camps, while almost 60,000 people are living in such places in Nagaon. But the Brahmaputra is still flowing above the danger mark at Nimatighat in Jorhat district.
