Haflong escaped a huge explosion incident when security forces recovered a huge quantity of explosives from a train on Thursday.
The explosives were found at Lower Haflong Railway station in Dima Hasao district.
The explosives, contained in two bags, included 292 pieces of gelatin sticks, 600 pieces of detonators (six packets with 100 in each pocket) and three coils of fuse wire of three feet each, were recovered from a compartment of the Silchar-bound Cachar Express coming from Lumding during a routine security check by GRP personnel at the station. //
