16 injured in Tinsukia blast

As many as sixteen people have been injured while a powerful bomb exploded in Tinsukia town at around 1 pm on Saturday. According to information, the blast took place at the busy GNB Road in front of a grocery. The injured people have been rushed to the hospital. High level police and civil officials have arrived in the spot to start operation. Meanwhile, one more crude bomb have been recovered just before a while. Details are awaited.

The name of the media fellows, selected for the fellowship programme to study the issues of climate change and disaster risk reduction has been declared. Sponsored by ActionAid (Northeast) and conducted by Guwahati Press Club the fellowships have been awarded to Manoranjan Bori (Dainik Janambhumi), Sudip Sharma (Sangbad Lahari) and Kanta Kaveri Sonowal (The Sentinel). The fellows will receive a grant of Rs 10,000/- for the month long feloooship program, under which they will study and report about the impact of climate change in Northeast India and also probable ways for disaster risk reduction in the region.
