Senior leaders back Gogoi

A section of senior leaders is believed to have taken the side f Tarun Gogoi as chief minister who is set to meet the dissident ministers and ministers on Monday evening.

Sources told Assam Times that the chief minister has agreed to accommodate senior MLAs in his soon to be reshuffled council of ministers. If need be, Gogoi has agreed to reshuffle his cabinet after a period of six months.

Gogoi is believed to have conveyed his decision to Sarat Borkotoky Dr Bhumidhar Barman on Sunday evening before Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma called on his at Koinadhara hilltop.

Apart from 45 MLAs, Gogoi has already got assurance of support from five senior leaders who talked to him over telephone during the last 12 hours.
