Free IT empowerment in Kokrajhar
A month-long free summer information technology (IT) empowerment for girls started from today at Nedan foundation conference hall in Kokrajhar.
It was organized by Nedan foundation, an NGO based at Kokrajhar is to impart IT empowerment to the girls so that they become equip with modern days technology need in day to day life where 33 girls from remote areas of Kokrajhar and Chirang district participated.
Carol Narzary, former Kokrajhar DC and BTC Secretary inaugurated the free summer IT that would offered basic fundamentals of computer course during the programme.
Narzary shared his views and opinion on the need of the IT empowerment for young girls.
Digambar Narzary, Chairman of the Nedan foundation gave an illuminating idea about the need of the It empowerment for girls, its impact and their future plan and activities. It was carried out by a short PPT by the IT instructor.
The Nedan foundation is focusing on giving one month free course on the basic fundamentals of computer including MS office, Typing, browsing, painting, introduction of Photoshop and introduction of DTP.

Former president of Kokrajhar district unit of Bharatiya Janata Party, Binati Bala Basumatary resigned from her party membership on Monday. Basumatary submitted her resignation letter to the state party president citating personal reason . She was Kokrajhar district BJP president for 2011-2015, who had gained strength of the party through her strong leadership in the district. Basumatary's quit of the party ahead assembly election would draw a set back party strength in the Kokrajhar. Three cadres of the NDFB(S) were arrested by security forces in a joint operation belonging to police and army at Hakata village under Barama PS in Baksa district on Sunday. The cadres were identified as Jwangsar Boro @ KK, Mohit Mushahary and Pramod Ramchiary @ Khankari @Raja of Baksa district. They were actively involved in extortion, arms smuggling and other nefarious and anti national activities and Adivasi carnage in December(2014) and had run away and sheltered themselves in Chennai, till their return.
