Delhi NE communities to felicitate NE MPs

The North East Indian communities residing in Delhi will be felicitating the newly elected Members of Parliament (MP) from Northeast region in the recently held Lok Sabha Election tomorrow on June 11 at the Vishwa Yuva Kendra, Chanakyapuri.

Apart from the new MPs from the NE, various dignitaries in the country’s capital city are also expected to attend the event.

Organised under the banner of NE Community Delhi, the felicitation event will witness songs and music from various North East artistes, bands and choirs. A regionally flavoured dinner will also be thrown at the end of the event.

The Centre will seriously consider the recommendations of the MP Bezbaruah panel set up to examine the concerns of the north eastern people living in other parts of the country. This was what minister of state for home Kiren Rijiju told Bezbaruah when the latter met Rijiju in New Delhi recently to submit the report. The North East Students Society Delhi University (NESSDU) organised a one-day cleanliness drive programme recently with the theme “I Love Delhi University” rececntly where many students from North East took part in cleaning the dirty roads in and around Delhi University main campus.
