RASHMITA GOGOI FROM NEW DELHI
The Centre is seriously considering to revive the talks with ULFA and other insurgent outfits who have already come back to the national mainstream.
Top level home ministry sources told Assam Times in Delhi that Union minister for home (independent charge) Kiren Rijiju, who is likely to visit Assam very soon, is keen to talk to the ULFA leaders.
“If everything goes fine, the Centre is sure of talks with ULFA after June 15. Talks are on the card with other militant outfit also ,” said a home ministry official.
Notably, talks with ULFA and the government refused to progress in the absence of its founder general secretary Anup Chetia alias Golap Borua who has been languishing at a jail in Dhaka.
