12 arrested

Police arrested 12 persons in connection with Gossaigaon shoot out incident  today for suspecting involvement with incident and linkmen of NSLA militants.

Sunil Kumar, Kokrajhar SP said the Adivasi militants have done the incident due to nonpayment of demanded extortion from contractors of construction. He said strong operation has been carried out in the area against militant outfits and main culprits would be booked,he said adding that  interrogation is on  to the arrested persons.

Mentioned be made that three persons were killed on the spot and  another was sustained injured when NSLA militant outfits fired at them at around 11.30 am.

The Mwihur International Theatre Festival has ended in Kokrajhar, Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR). The seven-day festival took place at the Bodofa Cultural Complex, Chandamari. NDFB-S ultra held

Security forces apprehend a NDFB(S) cadre from Basabil area under Gossaigaon PS on Sunday in Kokrajhar district. Based on information about the presence of the militant outfit cadres in the area, a joint team of police and army launched an operation where a listed cadre of Gossaigaon platoon of the NDFB(S) was arrested along with arms. He was identified as Sanjay Narzary of Borsabil village. A pistol, two round ammunition was recovered from him.

The Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) has left three constituencies- Sorbhog, Rangia and Bhawanipur to the Bharatiya Janata party (BJP), its ally party.
