Waiting for Rahul Gandhi

Amid a massive security arrangement, people thronging in thousands in Biswanath Chariali to attend Rahul Gandhi’s rally on Monday.

Security forces are fanning across the district to thwart any move by NDFB-S militants to disrupt Gandhi’s poll rally to campaign for Tezpur party candidate Bhupen Bora.

Senior party leaders told Assam Times that security forces are guarding hundreds of buses deployed by the party to ferry people to the rally at the Kamala Kanta Khetra.

Gandhi is scheduled to arrive in Tezpur at 11 in the morning. Then he would straightly leave for Biswanath Charilai to hold the rally. He would fly to Dibrugarh at 1-30 in the afternoon.      

Massive security arrangement is required in the entire district in view of NDFB-S militants’ 12 hour bandh to oppose Rahul Gandhi’s visit.

Rahul's rally in Assam is equally important. He has been strength of congress party and he has given its party a breakthrough. His efforts were transformed into actions.

One can see that Rahul Gandhi's popularity is rising day by day. He is very much popular among the young generation and also among the people at the grassroot level. He is putting good efforts in reaching out to people.

NDFB-S on killing spree

NDFB’s anti-talk faction continues to unleash terror in BTAD areas. The Bodo militant outfit shot dead one more person in Chirang district on Saturday.The attack took place at Panbari along the Indo-Bhutan border in the evening where four others persons have been injured. Operation against NDFB-S: DGP

A full scale operation is set to begin in the BTAD areas. This was what new DGP Khagen Sarma told reporters in Guwahati after NDFB(S) shot dead 6 people in two separate shoot outs during the last 24 hours.Sarma said that the security forces are all set to launch the operation to flush out the disturbing elements in the BTAD areas. State BJP unit blames it all on chief minister TarunGogoi for the Kokrajhar incident where NDFB(S) faction shot dead five Hindi-speaking passengers of a Siliguri-Jonai bus in Serfangguri on Friday night,Talking to reporters on Saturday in New Delhi, state unit president SarbanandaSonowal said that these incidents do take place at regular intervals only because of Gogoi who has been failing to deal with the law and order situation in the state.  

CM bats for Rahul

Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi said on Saturday that he would be happy if he sees Rahul Gandhi as the prime minister. Talking to reporters in New Delhi, Gogoi said that the party has yet to formally declare the AICC vice president as the prime ministerial candidate but it the mood inside the party suggested that he would be the prime minister if the party wins the upcoming polls. “On many occasions I have said that Rahul Gandhi is a fit candidate for prime minister,” he said before his brain storming session with the party vice president.

NDFB’s Sangbijit faction unleashed a reign of terror killing 5 people on Saturday. The major offensive took place at night in Falabeel near Serfang guri at around 11 at night. The Bodo militants, who were hiding stopped a night super bus and asked 8 persons to come down. Then they started indiscriminate firing at them where 5 were killed on the spot.
