Heavyweights to file nominations

Several political heavyweights are set to file their nomination papers on the last day on Friday for the first phase of Lok Sabha poll slated for April 7.

They include BJP state president Sarbananda Sonowal and his Congress counterpart Ranee Narah in Lakhimpur. Union minister and Congress candidate Pawan Singh Ghatowar is also set to file nomination papers on Friday in Dibrugarh.

They are apart from Mani Kumar Subba, the Congress leader who will file nomination to contest as independent candidate in Tezpur.
