Tarun Gogoi dead

Guwahati: Veteran Congress leader and former Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi is dead. He passed away in the evening at Guwahati Medical College Hospital where he was undergoing treatment of post COVID complications.

His condition deteriorated on Saturday as his organs did not properly respond to the line of treatment.

MP demands plebiscite on Bodoland

Amid an attempt to settle the vexed Bodoland issue through negotiation, an independent non Boro MP from BTAD area have dared the government to hold plebiscite  to ascertain the veracity of the decade old demands. Sonowal meeting Modi, Amit Shah

Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal is meeting prime minister Narendra Modi and party president Amit Shah to get the seal of approval in the cabinet expansion move. The Saturday evening OPD clinic at Guwahati Press Club was conducted by four senior Homeopathic physicians namely Dr SK Das, Dr Susanta Malakar, Dr Gayatri Dutta Barua and Dr Ramanand Gupta. No respite from rhino poaching

Despite round-the-click vigil, the poachers in Kaziranga struck again for horn in the national park. Forest guards the famed abode of one horn rhinos found a carcass of the one horn animal in the Agoratoli range on Saturday. The animal was believed to gave been killed two or three years back and took away the horn. This the third rhino poaching case in the world heritage site this year.

Sonowal attends BJP CMs’ meet

Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal attended a crucial meeting of the BJP chief ministers in New Delhi on Saturday. The Dibrugah police on Saturday arrested a youth a day after he threaten to kill Zubeen Garg who was arriving his hone town and performed for nearly three hours.
